There are many pathways you can take to becoming a NiSource Field and Service Technician. You can begin your career as a high school graduate, veteran, skilled tradesperson or have an agricultural background.
Plant Technicians
Installation, repair and replacement of main line and service distribution facilities.
Service Technician
Install and remove gas meters, meter settings, and regulators; inspects and tests service and house lines for leaks.
Work on customer premises to turn gas on/off; read meters; test for line leaks and locate leaks.
Respond to customer inquiries including no gas, leaks, gas odors and fires.

Operations Leadership
Providing leadership, direction, and performance coaching to the front-line workforce.
Actively manage the development and training of our front-line workforce in an enviable work environment while pursuing continuous improvement.
Lead safe, efficient operations, providing direction and support to ensure optimal use of resources and timely, safe, and quality service.
We’re looking for individuals with:
Demonstrated leadership experience
Multiple years of experience in natural gas distribution operations (or equivalent, ie. HVAC, plumbing, underground utility construction)
Demonstrated experience with quality improvement principles
Strong knowledge of on-the-job safety and compliance requirements
