Upcoming PA Central Union Openings

To be considered for these openings, the successful candidate(s) must live within the living requirements.

Residency Requirements

Current employees:
Current employees who bid and accept a regional position as an Emergency Responder shall be required to relocate and maintain residency within 6 months of accepting the regional position

New employees:
All new employees are required, as a condition of employment, to reside and maintain residency within 3 months after completing their probationary period.

The Regions (to use as a guideline for residency, check with FOL for final approval) are defined as the following locations within the Bridgeville (2221) Operating Area:

Region 1: Dormont, Mt Lebanon, McKees Rocks, Greentree, Beechview, Heidelberg, Carnegie, Bridgeville, Castle Shannon, Bethel Park, Upper St Clair, South Park, Scott

Region 2: South Side, Mt Oliver, Beltzhoover, Carrick, Brentwood, Baldwin, Whitehall, Pleasant Hills, Clairton

An employee’s residence is defined as the employee’s principal place of dwelling.

Service Technician Summary:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs meter and regulator related activities and have knowledge of customer appliance servicing.
  • Responsible for company equipment and property at the job site.
  • Must have knowledge of Company operating procedures and related paperwork, safety procedures, and be able to use this knowledge in job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Position:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate company vehicles.
  • Must be capable of passing applicable physical capacity tests.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through on assignments with limited direction.
  • Requires the ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to document records and understand written and oral communications.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge and/or experience of hand tools is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult customer situations with tact and diplomacy is required.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position:

Prefers computer software experience.

Locator Technician Summary:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Locate underground utilities in response to PA One Call.
  • Must be able to read maps and interpret information.
  • Responsible for submitting map revisions.
  • Must be able to become OQ qualified in all duties relevant to the area of Line Locating.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate company vehicles.

Salary Range:

$32.07 - $46.34
