Sr. IT Analyst

Full Time Perm

Way of Work: Hybrid

Salary: $91,000 - $136,600, plus 8% annual bonus

Location: Merrillville, IN or Columbus, OH

The IT Customer organization is accountable for Customer facing systems, including Billing, Customer engagement Channels, Energy Supply trading, Call Centers, CRM, Sales, and Marketing.  This organization also supports all regulatory and compliance projects, new products & services programs, and the Advance Metering Infrastructure program

The Sr. IT Analyst will be a part of the IT Applications space, with a primary focus on application portfolio management, enhancement, and support. They will work closely with their assigned business partners to help plan work within their tower, work with project managers to successfully execute projects, and lead coordination with our service partners to maintain overall health and support of applications.

As a Sr. IT Analyst you will act as a liaison between the business, IT, and other project stakeholders. This role will be primarily assigned to the applications portfolio where they will help maintain a subset of applications, execution of application projects, assist with requirements gathering and coordination within an agile or waterfall team.

This Sr. IT Analyst will be assigned to the Customer Information Systems or Smart Metering team.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Planning: begin eliciting business requirements and modeling processes

  • Definition and Design: facilitate workshops to evolve scope, gather detailed requirements, and develop use cases and begin visualizing the end result

  • Requirements Elicitation: Leads, designs and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes

  • Requirements Development: Works to ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved by the key stakeholders

  • Operational Support: Day to day oversight of assigned application portfolio

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of experience with business modeling, business analysis, and/or business application support

  • Experience with all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with one or more of the methodologies: waterfall or agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility experience

  • ServiceNow experience

  • Experience with agile / iterative development methodologies

  • Knowledge / experience using testing tool like qTest and agile development tools like JIRA

  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analyst professional (CBAP)

  • ITIL knowledge

Summary

Our team supports the company's Customer Information Systems and Energy Supply applications - a total of approx. 80 applications. The team consists of a manager and 5 analysts - supplemented by a large service provider team. We are responsible for the day-to-day operations tasks as well as project delivery for the applications in our domain. The customer domain will be embarking on a major transformation effort and the business analyst will play a key role in this effort. The Sr. IT Business Analyst will be a part of the IT Applications space, with a primary focus on the customer application portfolio. They will work closely with our Business Relationship Manager to help plan work within their tower, work with project managers to successfully execute projects, and lead coordination with our service partners to maintain overall health and support of applications. The Sr. IT Business Analyst will also act as a liaison between the business, IT, and other project stakeholders. This role will be primarily assigned to the applications portfolio where they will help maintain a subset of applications, execution of application projects, assist with requirements gathering and coordination within an agile team.
