IT Applications Manager - Advanced Meter Infrastructure and Grid Monitorization
Full Time Perm
Way of Work: Hybrid – two days on location
Location: Merrillville, IN
Salary: $125,800 - $188,600, plus annual bonus

As the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our AMI system, ensuring its reliability, accuracy, and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, optimize system performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will involve overseeing field operations, managing vendor relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet business objectives.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
AMI System Integration: Lead the integration of IT systems with the AMI infrastructure, including meter data management (MDM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Head end system.
Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day IT operations of the AMI system, including monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring data integrity and security.
Software Development: Coordinate with software developers to design, develop, and implement custom applications, scripts, and interfaces to support AMI operations, data analytics, and reporting requirements.
Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect the AMI system from cyber threats, including intrusion detection, encryption, access controls, and security patch management.
Data Management: Manage the collection, storage, and analysis of AMI data, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, privacy regulations, and industry standards.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers to procure IT hardware, software, and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
Change Management: Implement change management processes and procedures to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth transitions during system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities.
Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials for IT staff and end-users to facilitate system understanding, usage, and troubleshooting
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience in IT application technology management and/or equivalent plan/build/run
Prior experience with application development, program delivery, service provider management, and distributed teams
Experience leading and developing a staff of technology professionals.
Understanding of multiple technology domains like meter data management, head end systems, or other enterprise solutions that enable business functions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, relationships, schedules, and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Regulated utility experience strongly preferred.
Technical certifications preferred.
PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred.
ITIL certification strongly preferred. Certification within 6 months of hire required.
