Lead Data Governance Analyst
Full Time
Way of Work: Remote
Salary: $91,000 - $136,600 plus annual bonus
The Data Governance Department, under the Office of Innovation creates value by ensuring availability, usability, consistency, integrity, security, and connectivity of NiSource data. The Data Governance team is responsible for documenting data flows within work processes, and for creating KPIs to monitor critical data elements to ensure data quality is maintained.
The Lead Data Governance Analyst will build out new and maintain continuous improvement of established data governance structures across the enterprise, including policy, process, and roles and responsibilities for data owners and data stewards.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Build and Maintain Data Ownership Model through strong relationship management.
Create and Lead Data Stewardship Forums to share intel on data, defect information, and fostering a collaborative data community.
Partner with Data Activation Manager to lead KPI Management process from identification, definition, and publication of all terms across the Enterprise.
Partner with Data Ownership community to identify critical data elements and custom business rules for data quality monitoring.
Document Critical Data Elements within the Data Catalog and Business Glossary.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience with data analysis including manipulating large data sets, building visualizations, performing data integration, or similar duties
5+ years of experience with databases and database structures including the ability to articulate data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users
3+ years of experience in direct data governance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using data analysis tools and techniques
Experience in the roll-out and adoption of governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview or similar
Experience working in a company with strong data governance
