Transformation Program Manager

*This role has a hybrid schedule. Candidates are required to work 2-3 days/week in either our Columbus, Ohio or Merrillville, Indiana office location*

Summary:

The Program Manager in the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for overseeing large-scale programs and collaborating closely with the Program Director to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget and that EPMO governance is followed. The Program Manager also provides PMO support, drives strategic initiatives, and contributes to the overall success of the organization while acting as an advisor to the Program Director regarding projects and program performance. This position may travel up to 15% of the time across the six-state NiSource footprint.


Essential Functions

  • Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with stakeholders, including regular updates to the Program Director and EPMO Director.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates potential risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conducts thorough analyses of program performance and makes data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Efficiently manages program resources, including budget, timelines, and team members.
  • Leads the planning, execution, and monitoring of large programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Enhances PMO processes and standards in collaboration with the Program Director and EPMO Director.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of project management methodologies.
  • Coordinates projects and their interdependencies, mitigating conflics before they cause delays.
  • Prepares and presents regular program status reports to leadership.
  • Collaborates with other program managers and project teams to share best practices and ensure consistency across programs.

Required Qualifications For Position-

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Information Technology, Business or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in project management.
  • 4-6 years Proven experience as a Program/Project Manager, managing large and complex projects across a matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards. High
  • Aptitude in both business and technology. High
  • Ability to provide strong program and project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change High
  • High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners and establish effective working relationships Medium
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses and recommendations into executive-level insights and debriefs. Medium
  • Aptitude for attention to detail, accuracy, precision, and logic Medium
  • Fosters strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction. Medium

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position-

  • Master's Degree MBA
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks
  • Utility industry experience
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI

Salary Range:

$107,000.00 - $160,500.00
