Job Title:  EA/Paralegal for General Counsel

Job Code:  MS0962

Job Summary:  General Counsel of multi-state utility company seeks executive assistant in active, high-paced environment.  Role primarily supports GC but will also support other legal department executives such as Assistant Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. 

*In-office requirement in Columbus, OH multiple days a week.  Some travel and/or overtime may be required.*

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists executive in time management and calendar scheduling, including day-to-day and long-term management of meetings, projects and priorities
  • Maintains high level of discretion and confidentiality for legal and executive matters
  • Schedules all meetings and travel, including prioritizing meetings and communicating all relevant details to participants
  • Balances conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential projects and meet critical deadlines
  • Ensures executive is prepared for upcoming appointments
  • Processes executive expenses in a timely fashion
  • Handles phone, email and postal mail inquiries and respond appropriately and maintaining confidentiality
  • Works as a member of the team, willingly providing back-up support for co-workers when appropriate and actively supporting team and company goals
  • Recommends, creates and implements and maintains improved administrative systems, procedures and processes including electronic and paper-based filing systems

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Proven organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
  • Aptitude for attention to detail, accuracy and precision and the belief that no task is too big or too small
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with a confident, concise, clear and compelling style
  • Excellent relationship builder, ability to demonstrate a high level of tact, discretion, and diplomacy with all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Projects a professional and positive demeanor and image
  • Ability to interface with people at all levels of the Company and to interface effectively with outside law firms
  • Skilled in all aspects of planning and project management/ able to take an idea from concept to completion
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and PowerPoint and formatting in each
  • Knowledge of proper document design and execution, e.g., report formatting, business letters

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or 5-8 years’ experience in an administrative support capacity
  • Paralegal or legal secretary

Salary Range:

$65,900.00 - $99,000.00
