Manager of Master and Reference Data

Full Time

Shift: Hybrid or Remote

The Data Governance Department, under the Office of Innovation creates value by ensuring availability, usability, consistency, integrity, security, and connectivity of NiSource data. 

Manager of Master and Reference Data is a people-leadership role responsible and accountable for building and establishing the reference and mast data capabilities across the enterprise. In this role you will promote data consistency, accuracy, and completeness with data standards. The Manager of Master and Reference Data is a subject matter expert in their discipline and defines the scope and priorities for developing, deploying and/or improving data management standards, policies, and processes enhancing the quality and completeness of the organization’s data. 

 

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads a team of analysts/specialists that can navigate a fast-paced environment with the potential for frequent course changes 

  • Strong technical acumen to stand up the architecture, design, and execution of reference data and/or MDM

  • Provide leadership in the development of custom integrations and various data stores for a reference data repository

  • Lead the maintenance of data in and continuous improvement of the metadata and reference data repository

  • Partner with the business to analyze and understand business requirements and review/produce technical and business specifications with a focus on reference data and master data modeling

  • Ability to work closely with development teams on complex data analysis to ensure strategic alignment of business and technology goals related to the implementation and usage of reference and master data

  • Serves as an inclusive leader by proactively seeking out different perspectives both internally and externally 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of experience with data analysis including manipulating large data sets, building visualizations, performing data integration, or similar duties

  • 5+ years of experience with databases and database structures including the ability to articulate data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users 

  • 2+ years of experience in direct data governance

  • 2+ years of experience in project or program management

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams 

  • Experience leading data governance programs 

  • Electric/Gas utility experience knowledge

Salary Range:

$125,800.00 - $188,600.00
