Data Governance Manager - Data Quality
Full Time
Shift: Hybrid or Remote
The Data Governance Department, under the Office of Innovation creates value by ensuring availability, usability, consistency, integrity, security, and connectivity of NiSource data.
The Data Governance Manager is a people-leadership role responsible and accountable for establishing data governance standards and best practices that maintain high data quality and security. You will promote data consistency, accuracy, and completeness with data standards. The Manager of Data Governance is also a subject matter expert in their discipline and defines the scope and priorities for developing, deploying and/or improving data management standards, policies, and processes enhancing the quality and completeness of the organization’s data.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Leads a team of analysts/specialists that can navigate a fast-paced environment with the potential for frequent course changes
Establishes audit processes and data quality reviews/dashboards utilizing quality assurance methods to identify problems and defects and tracks to resolution.
Establish data quality standards and best practices that maintains high data quality across the Enterprise
Promote data consistency, accuracy, and completeness with data standards. Establish audit, remediation, and communication processes and data quality reviews utilizing quality assurance methods to identify problems and errors
Leverage technical acumen and data quality best practices to onboard and implement new DQ tooling or technologies
Monitor and own technology to make it possible to ensure high data quality of structured, multi-structured and unstructured data across on-prem and cloud environments
Oversee maintenance of business rules and Data Quality Management activities to align with up/downstream data needs/changes
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
8+ years of experience with data analysis including manipulating large data sets, building visualizations, performing data integration, or similar duties
5+ years of experience with databases and database structures including the ability to articulate data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users
2+ years of experience in direct data governance
1+ year of experience in the roll-out and adoption of data quality tools such as IDQ, IBM Cloud Pak, Anomalo, Profisee, DataBuck or similar
Preferred Qualifications
Standing up and utilizing an enterprise data governance platform
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience leading data governance programs
Electric/Gas utility experience knowledge

Salary Range:
