Successful applicants for the Senior Category Analyst role in IT Supply Chain will be curious, self-motivated, and able to learn quickly while providing excellent customer service to our internal business partners. Candidates with excellent communication and analytical skills from other disciplines are encouraged to apply in the absence of specific Supply Chain experience.
The Senior Category Analyst is responsible for helping drive value through the strategic sourcing and the supplier relationship management processes. The applicant must be highly analytical and self-driven with a proven ability to collect and analyze data, build out cost models, draw conclusions, present findings to drive decisions, and track and manage supplier performance metrics. The Senior Category Analyst must possess an ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and still meet business performance measures, including timelines for sourcing activities and planning for future sourcing needs of the business units.
The Senior Category Analyst reports to the Manager, Category Management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Support supplier relationship management of designated categories.
Collect and analyze raw data to build cost models (using spreadsheets, organizing data, creating graphs) and identify savings / avoidance opportunities
Analyze data and create reports and presentations regarding key business measures such as supplier performance, spend analytics and market trends.
Lead the RFX process for medium to large sized initiatives, which includes but is not limited to: supplier communication, development of business requirements and decision/evaluation criteria, document creation and distribution, response analysis, negotiation analysis, and supplier selection
Partner with key stakeholders to develop, negotiate, and execute contracts.
Oversee Purchase Order lifecycle and ensure terms and conditions align with established strategy
Review, analyze, and approve purchase requests with established suppliers
Manage and resolve contract disputes
Understand savings and operational targets and develop and execute on plans to deliver on targets
Proactively taking prompt action to accomplish work goals and to achieve results beyond what is required
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements
Communicate effectively to build and maintain internal and external relations and resolve issues
Support a positive work environment
Perform Category Lead duties in the absence of a Category Lead
Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor's degree or three to five years’ experience in supply chain, procurement or category management
Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw well-supported conclusions
Knowledge and understanding of sourcing methodologies
Ability to manage multiple commodities or work streams
Ability to negotiate
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
Planning and organizational skills
Critical/analytical thinking skills
Ability to support a positive work environment/work collaboratively
Ability to execute and drive results while gaining commitment from others
Ability to establish plans and meet deadlines
Ability to adapt quickly to change
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, achieve goals and business objectives
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Advanced Excel/modeling capabilities
Basic knowledge of contract management & administration
CPSM
Ability to manage and mitigate contractual risk
Knowledge of procurement/ERP software (PeopleSoft, Ariba, or similar)
Demonstrated ability to complete projects and tasks with minimal oversight and direction
Ability to build strategic working relationships
Supply chain experience in the utility industry

Salary Range:
