Job Title:  Leader Transmission Integrity Engineering

Job Summary

Lead Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) activities for NiSource. Provide guidance, direction, and support to integrity staff and coordinate activities with internal and external customers.  Manage the performance of integrity staff to ensure the completion of goals and department objectives.  Assist in the development and management of the capital and O&M budget programs for Transmission Pipeline Asset group.  Ensure all program activities are completed according to the TIMP Plan and Company standards.  Collaborate with Integrity peers, Engineering, Operations, Construction, Major Projects, Compliance and Support groups to ensure safe, reliable delivery of energy services at best cost. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all Transmission Integrity program activities

  • Coach, develop and evaluate integrity staff

  • Assign projects and responsibilities to integrity staff that fosters a sense of ownership and accountability while also providing development opportunities

  • Cultivate positive relationships with federal and state agencies

  • Lead TIMP and Mega Rule state commission audits

  • Identify, prioritize and develop integrity projects in partnership with major projects, compliance, engineering, and operations

  • Provide technical and emergency support to Operations 

  • Meet budgetary and metric goals

  • Coordinate and assist in developing long range system plans

  • Ensure high level internal and external customer satisfaction

  • Drive functional consistency, process standardization and operational excellence

  • Promote the use of technology, tools and planning techniques to improve process results

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in an engineering or engineering technology curriculum from an ABET accredited college or university

  • Three years of experience in gas utility Engineering or Operations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of 49 CFR 192 Subpart O

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, gas system design and budget management

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with system operations, construction and emergency response activities

  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry codes, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures relative to gas utility engineering, construction, operations and safety.

  • Knowledge of utility infrastructures

  • Knowledge of utility regulatory ratemaking and budgeting processes and systems

  • Familiarity with common computer applications

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 and AutoCAD or equivalent applications.

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Post graduate degree in Business or Engineering

  • Professional Engineers license

  • PMP Certification

  • Five years of experience in gas utility Engineering or Operations

  • Experience in leading people and projects

  • Demonstrated proficiency with NiSource codes, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures relative to gas utility engineering, construction, operations and safety.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with NiSource utility infrastructure

  • Demonstrated proficiency in budget origination, management and forecasting

  • Demonstrated proficiency with common NiSource computer applications (e.g. WMS, DIS/CIS, GIS)

Salary Range:

$101,400.00 - $152,100.00
