Job Title:  Director Regulatory Affairs

Job Summary

Responsibilities include the planning, supervision, preparation and support of all Columbia's regulatory filings before the Public Utilities Commission of Virginia, including the preparation and support of exhibits, proposed tariff changes and testimony in regulatory proceedings. Further responsibilities include construction of rate case and regulatory financial planning models and provision of explanations of financial impacts of proposed regulatory initiatives to management.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds rate case or other regulatory outcome financial models
  • Provides technical expertise in all rate proceedings
  • Understands and articulates the financial impacts of regulatory initiatives to management
  • Implements regulatory affairs activities
  • Builds upon and enhances effective relationships with key regulatory parties
  • Provides support for marketing, operations and public affairs initiatives
  • Communicates and builds understanding of regulatory issues and strategies throughout the company and externally
  • Provides active regulatory guidance in development of company strategic plan
  • Negotiates effective outcomes to regulatory initiatives with external parties
  • Financial Regulatory modeling and analytics
  • Strategic regulatory direction
  • Effective key regulatory relationships
  • Effectively managed regulatory process
  • Advice on regulatory environment

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Regulatory/financial experience
  • Knowledge of rate theory and application
  • Financial acumen
  • Seasoned Judgment
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Team building

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics
  • MBA or CPA
  • Experience with regulated gas industry

Salary Range:

$119,200.00 - $178,800.00
