IT Portfolio Manager - End User Services

Full Time Perm

Shift: Hybrid - onsite 2 days and remote 3 days

Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN

The End User Services Organization provides operational support and innovative solutions for the NiSource end user environment. 

The IT Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing highly complex or enterprise-wide IT programs consisting of multiple projects or large transformational projects that span multiple organizations. Works across IT towers and with the business partners to develop an overall program strategy for a portfolio of work along with the project planning and resourcing needed for execution. 

As the The IT Portfolio Manager you will also be responsible for delivering all projects and enhancements within their portfolio on time and on budget while meeting the strategic and business requirements of the organization.

 

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans and manages a portfolio of multi-million dollar IT programs that are comprised of highly visible, high-profile projects that span the organization and have significant enterprise impact

  • Develops overall program strategy to ensure proper sequencing and integration of large/complex projects within the portfolio and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as necessary, based upon the needs of the business

  • Communicates with IT leadership and senior business leadership to review program strategy, direction and changes

  • Manages a team of multiple project managers and project resources for the execution of programs/projects

  • Monitors, measures and reports on program status to IT leadership and senior business leadership

  • Manages multiple service providers selected to participate in assigned projects, including full vendor management procedures

  • Planning and coordination across multiple IT and business groups for the startup and execution of programs through delivery

  • Financial forecasting and management for a portfolio of work

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience managing complex enterprise-wide projects ranging from $5 – $10M+ that span multiple years and consist of a combination of internal, external, labor, and non-labor cost components

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • PMP Certification and ITIL experience preferred

  • Waterfall to Agile transformation experience highly preferred

  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management best practices including knowledge of waterfall, agile and SDLC methodologies and tools

  • Leadership skills (ability to coach, develop and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)

  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision

  • Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning

  • Business Process Analysis skills and Business Process Mapping

  • Experience implementing change management approaches to support programs

  • Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team
