At NiSource, our employees are engaged in the communities we serve

From recycling programs to participating in community volunteer organizations, NiSource employees are encouraged to get involved.

  • In 2010, Columbia Gas of Massachusetts’ Lawrence Operating Center recognized the importance of creating a more sustainable workplace. Employees formed a “Go Green” team focused on encouraging the adoption of environmentally responsible habits and office-wide “green” practices.
  • NiSource’s Supply Chain Services’ recycling team did its part to reduce waste, and in 2010 collected nearly 80,000 pounds of recyclable materials and reduced water consumption by more than 2 million gallons at the Columbus, Ohio office.
  • NiSource employees at NIPSCO in Indiana formed the NiSource Environmental Action Team (NEAT), whose mission is to provide environmental education and assistance with environmental restoration efforts in the communities the company serves.
