Our Gas Distribution job requirements
We’re looking for the best — experienced professionals with enthusiasm, great customer skills, experience with hand tools and the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Many positions also require 12-18 months of construction or plumbing experience. That’s because our communities rely on us to respond to their needs — and handle any emergency — at any time and in any weather. We also use field and service strength and Service Basic Aptitude tests to qualify our technicians.
If you have what it takes to meet the challenges of delivering safe energy to our customers today and tomorrow, we have the career for you.

Our work with the AMBER Alert program helps keep children safe
When the employees of the Columbia Gas Distribution companies hit the streets each day to do their job, they take with them more than 1,650 pairs of eyes and ears to support the AMBER Alert program. Using the mobile data terminal (MDT) technology in our field vehicles to share this vital information, we help to improve the chances of finding missing children. It’s one more way our companies are involved in the community — and one more reason great people are proud to be part of the NiSource team.
